I MISS BEING TAN! So much that I had to write that in caps.
We’ve been lucky in LA because the weather has been so warm, however while people may be laying out in the sun, I’m busy doing hair everyday, and haven’t had a chance to enjoy it. And my friends in New England who keep getting 2 feet of snow every few days definitely have not seen the sun in a while. Here are a few things I’ve learned to help get us by until the summer sun gets here full time…
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs
I first heard about this product from a high profile client of mine. She swore by it and uses it every time she has to wear a dress for appearances and events. Then I heard about it again just a few weeks later while I styled hair for a fashion show. All the models started whipping this stuff out of their bags and spraying away! Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs isn’t a self tanner, it’s more of a make up for your skin. It will give you instant color, even out your skin tone on your legs which does make you look thinner (wahoo!!!), and actually looks super natural. If any of the color gets on your clothes or bedding, it says it will wash off too, so no worries there. I’d still recommend washing it off at the end of the night.
$13-$15 Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens, everywhere.
Spray di Sole Organic Spray Tan
Every celebrity gets spray tans frequently. We all know the sun and tanning beds aren’t the best for our skin and if you have fair skin, it takes so much effort to get a nice tan. I’ve used at home self tanners, done the Mystic Tan, and had many spray tans before, but the best I’ve found was actually at my salon, Román Salon. I try hard not to sell my services or promote my salon on this blog and keep it neutral, but this spray tan is so legit it would be rude of me to not share it with you. Sadie is the “spray tanner” and she really does a fabulous job. It’s the first spray tan I’ve ever gotten that I don’t have to run home and wash my hands after or actually put bleach on my feet to even them out ( yup.. it’s happened). Spray di Sole is one of the top spray tan solutions, and because it’s organic, you don’t have to be fearful of it sitting on your skin. Sadie is professional and you will love her too. And she has sprayed so many celebrities and they come back for more, so you know she’s doing a great job. If you live in the LA area, definitely try her out. If you are not in Los Angeles, look online and call around to try to find someone who is doing organic spray tanning in your area. I always recommend to hop on Yelp.com and scope out your spray tan professional before taking the plunge.
$65 at Román Salon and it lasts for a week.
Jergen’s Natural Glow Lotion
I’ve written about this product before, but it seemed fit to include it in this story. Jergen’s Natural Glow Lotion is something every girl should own. It’s a body lotion that has a slight hint of self tanner in it and will gradually give you a little tan. It’s natural and you don’t have to worry about orange hands or streaks. If you used to use this lotion and hated the smell, I encourage you to try it again because they’ve improved it big time.
$8-$10 Target, Rite Aid, possibly your local grocery store.
